WATER HEATERS

(1)

Q - My water heater is over seven years old and is no longer making hot water. Should I have it repaired or replaced?

A - In this area, as harsh as the water is, the typical life of a water heater is about seven to eight years. The cost to replace the electrical components in your existing water heater would pay for as much as 40% of the price for a new water heater.

(2)

Q - My water heater is less than seven years old and is no longer making hot water. Should it be repaired OR replaced?

A - As a water heater gets older, it becomes less economically feasible to have them repaired. If your water heater is substantially less than seven years old, I would repair it.

 (3)

Q - My water heater is leaking. Can my water heater be repaired.

A - Usually not. Typically, the reason for a water heater to leak is a rust hole. Rust holes can not be repaired.

WELL EQUIPMENT

(1)

Q - My pump is clicking on and off rapidly. What should I do?

A - Several things can cause this but your pump clicking on and off rapidly can burn out a pump motor pretty fast. The power to the pump should be turned off right away so no further damage can occur and the system should be serviced ASAP.

(2)

 Q - I don't have any water. Do I need a new pump.

A - Usually not. Your water system is very complex with many electrical components. Any one of them could cause your water to turn off. We can trouble shoot the system properly and get your water back on quickly. Usually without replacing a pump.

LEAKS

(1)

Q - I think I have a water pipe leaking under my slab, should I have it repaired.

A- Most of the time, when you have an underslab leak it is because the piping is getting old. When the piping has gotten old enough to start leaking in one spot, it is only a mater of time before it starts leaking in other places as well. To repair an underslab leak the floor will usually have to jackhammered up and the leak repaired, requiring alot of collateral damage and then that area of the floor repaired, wood, carpet, tile, vinyl, etc. Generally, the entire house can be repiped for what it would cost for the total repair of about two or three slab leaks. It usually doesn't make economical sense to repair a slab leak. But, if you just want to fix the underslab leak, we can pinpoint the location of the leak and repair it right away.

(2)

Q - Repipe? Isn't that a huge expensive job?

A - Usually not. A whole house repipe can usually be accomplished in a single day. A few holes will usually need to be cut in a few walls. The holes in the walls would generally be repaired on day two.

STOPPAGES

(1)

Q - My whole house is stopped up. What should I do?

A - If your house is on a septic tank, 90% of the time, your going to need your septic tank pumped out. Even if your septic tank was recently pumped, the drain field may not be working properly. We don't pump septic tanks or repair drain fields but would be happy to recommend a company to do that.

If your house is on city sewer, then your sewer line should be clean. We have the proper equipment to take care  of that and can also video the sewer line to be able to tell you what is causing the problem.
